Job Description
The IT Financial Analyst drives budget planning and execution, data analysis and forecasting for the Information Technology department. Daily work will involve working with IT team members to process Opex and Capex Spend purchase orders, track assets, and support reporting requirements for the team. The IT financial management team at AMD supports both Operating Expense processes and Capital Expense spending and asset management.

The analyst must be highly organized and able to manage several manual processes with precision and detail. Qualified candidates must have strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to apply business principles to your analysis. Looking for an independent, solutions-oriented team player who is self-motivated and driven to succeed. The analyst will also be an important liaison to the company’s finance team to support additional analysis. 

Responsibilities Include:

•Create purchase orders for desktop software, IT contracts and capital purchases

•Perform extensive financial modeling and ad hoc analysis utilizing Microsoft Excel, analysis of large data sets

•Process EAWRs for managing assets in our asset inventory

•Reconcile asset inventory details with financial records

•Review Assets Under Construction (AUC) on a monthly basis to maintain capitalization forecasts

•Completing ad-hoc and planned reporting requests for management decision-making

•Manage accruals and cross-charge activities for month-end and quarter close

•Run reports and complete spending analysis in SAP

•Create amortization schedules for assets and contracts

•Process asset disposition requests

•Manage asset inventory processes and reconciliation to depreciation plans

Position Requirements and Skills:

•Bachelor’s degree with business/finance concentration preferred

•5+ years of related experience in finance roles

•Experience in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and financial analysis

•Advanced Excel user with experience using large data sets and creating pivots

•Excellent communication skills – be able to deal effectively with managers across the organization

•Self-starter, ability to work within their areas of responsibility and within virtual teams

•Strong business analyst skills; comfortable working with large volumes of data, sometimes confidential in nature

•Strong planning and organizational skills with proven capability to execute/deliver results independently

•SAP ECC user experience strongly desired (running reports, navigating and viewing data within SAP)

•PowerBI experience a plus
